The Power of Peace


So perhaps the reason I don't keep all my lovely readers interested- is because I normally create one post, and make it a mile long. And it usually happens once every month. Well my loves- this will change :) Cause I've got a lot to say, and I know it's not easily read all in one sitting ;) Were all busy. I get it !

 So basically. I'm just wondering- what gives you peace, or relaxes you, in this loud & crazy, world?

I know for me- there are so many things that help me unwind.
This isn't the 'greenest' thing there is, but I do enjoy listening to my fan. Right now I'm listening to Eddie Vedder on Pandora and drinking a glass of wine. I intentionally do these things to help me become calm and peaceful. I also decided I am going to begin yoga practice 3x a week. I think it's important to create goals for yourself, keep challenging yourself, and then of course, reward yourself. But not with things that do not help you- obviously. I know lately, life has been hard- and working harder, etc. I'm growing up. Stress happens, etc. But I am mature enough to know taking care of yourself is the most important thing.
Because if you don't take care of you- you can't be good for others, you can't nurture and protect or make others happy, if you, yourself are not. That is where I came up with the name of my blog. My blog isn't just specifically about 'eating healthy' and 'vegan' food, etc. It's about you. It's about learning knowledge for your own good, to help you. I just want to make you aware of all the things I know, as we all should. If you know something, share it. We are here in this world to help each other out. Not to harm. So I give a hand out to anyone who wants to hold it- with this blog, and me writing in it. I just want to help the people I love.

After finding out how much food is medicine. It made it seem almost ridiculous to rely on medicine or doctors, etc. I understand sometimes things are out of our hands, even food- but for the prevention part of it, which I hope we are all in, we can prevent something from happening now- if we actively take care of ourselves by eating right and exercising daily.

I find it strange that people say when their older who are not in good health, they lived their life up too much. I find that if you live your life up to the fullest, that being you felt your best, you saw the world, you ate all the food this world has to offer naturally, and saw the beauty in this world in it's most beautiful original state. Thats what I feel like for me, would be living it up. And if thats the case- I'd be in fine condition when I'm older- hopefully, still living it up as much as possible. These are things I want for myself, and for you.

So what can we do daily to make sure we are doing all we can to take care of ourselves?

-Create warm lighting in your place
-Light candles
-Turn on music thats soothing to you
-Practice yoga moves
-Write, Read, or Play a movie that makes you happy (I suggest Eat, Pray, Love)
-Make a creative dinner with lots of beautiful colors
-Do something challenging- for instance, Try to make a raw dessert!
-Breathe


....just to name a few.

Tonight I made dessert. Just cause ;) It's Raw cacao avocado pie. -Taken from my brownie recipe, converted into pie.

  1. So good and true!! Thanks for writing! I need to get back into doing more Yoga as well! I love bikram and all types of Yoga- helps me relax and really focus at the task at hand. So many times I am thinking about a million things at once- it is nice when you can clear your mind and just focus on one thing. I need to try some of your recipes asap too!! Stop dreaming about eating them and actually make them and eat them!!
