Take Care Of Yourself...

I love this man right here. This man is super knowledgable about health- when I say healthy- I mean, healthy. Plus I get great vibes from him and just know, he truly cares about what he knows, and wants to share that with the world. A lot like how I feel. Although I am no mastermind on health. I truly care to share- what I know- and what I continue to learn, to give to you. Cause we all have a chance to change our lives and feel the difference. There is a really happy clean soul inside yourself, that wants to come out so bad. Believe me. That was me once. I was the most ignorant person when it came to healthy food. and now I love what I know- and it just feels very nice to know what you eat truly effects how you feel.

So Dr. Weil agrees with me- the only "carbs" you should eat. are good ones. Seems simple, right? Apparently not for some people. I've been eating this way for a while now. I'm not gonna lie, on a rainy day I might have some white flour or a piece of candy I don't usually have. But it's rare- and not the ordinary. Nor do I ever keep it that way. I'm talking about the only carbs you should have are low g i carbs. Meaning whole grains, such as oats, quinoa, brown rice, 100% whole wheat pasta noodles.... lentils,  sweet potatoes and other roots- and of coarse green vegetables. The main part I think people get confused with is all this trickery in the labeling business. Anyone can call a bread whole wheat or whole grain, or multi grain, honey wheat, etc. That does NOT mean that bread is 100% whole wheat or grains. There quite possibly is enriched flour in there.

Working at a 'healthy' grocery store, I get very bothered by lots of customers coming in thinking oh it's ok to eat this pizza, cause it is from here. No. That pizza could be just as bad as the rest of them. or those cookies, the list goes on. and just because it is 'organic', does not mean you should chose that 'organic pasta' over the non organic 100% whole wheat pasta. You need the 100% whole grain one. Not the plain enriched flour organic pasta. Do you see what I mean? Those labeling people are out to get you- your money that is. I'm afraid they don't care about your health as much as you should.

So hopefully if you learned anything from today I hope it is to read the label! :)

-[a brand you can always trust, without having to read their label except for on their crackers, is Kashi. Their foods taste good, and they thrive on their '7 whole grains'. I love their company they make pizzas, frozen dinners, crackers, cereal, oatmeal. All of which there is a 100 % whole grain option in all catergories. ;) Their pizzas are good! and most importantly- very good for you.]

This is part one of a healthy eating/knowledge series. next up- coming soon ;)
